STATEMENT
Perdido is a multigenerational drama about fathers, sons, and the legacies they leave each other. It is inspired by my own personal experience trying to reconnect with my father prior to his death and my journey to deliver a song he wrote to his favorite singer, Vicente Fernandez. While the story takes place in the early 2000’s, the central theme of “talented people never getting to fulfill their dreams and never living up to one’s potential” draws many parallels to my life now, over a decade later. Like the lead character’s journey to fulfill his destiny, by bringing this story to life, I fulfill my own, and in doing so hope to inspire others to pursue theirs as well.
